Biography
Amelia Phillips was born before 1770 if she was at least age 16 when she married John Garrott Prather. She was born in Frederick County, Maryland, and was a daughter of Samuel Phillips, and Nancy Ann Sargent.
On 6 August 1785, a marriage license was issued for John Prather and Amelia Philips at Frederick County.[1] Amelia was the mother of two of John G. Prather’s children.[2]
Around 1790, John G. and Amelia Prather moved to Fleming County, Kentucky, then crossed the Ohio River into Clermont County, Ohio.[2]
Amelia died about 1790, soon after moving to Clermont County.[2] The place of her burial is unknown.
