I am Jon-David Phillips.
I was born in Huntsville, AL, USA at Huntsville Hospital on a snowy January 13, 1975. My parents had to drive from our home in Athens, AL to Huntsville in, what I am told, was several inches of snow. This is not the most common of conditions in northern Alabama.
I grew up mostly in Tanner, AL attending and graduating from Tanner High School in southern Limestone County. After high school I attended the University of Alabama-Huntsville for one year on scholarship pursuing a degree in Computer Engineering. College didn't work out, so I went to work. I apprenticed as a Tool and Die Maker at Athens Tool and Die in Athens, AL. I served a four year apprenticeship and am certified with the US Department of Labor as a journeyman Toolmaker. After spending approximately fifteen years in this trade, I sought my fortunes elsewhere lucking upon a job as a software tester for Applied Data Trends in Huntsville, AL. After a year and a half the company closed and I moved to SAIC in Huntsville with the work. During this time I attended Calhoun Community College and Athens State University finally obtaining my Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science. I am currently working for SAIC as a Software Engineer.
I have been married twice. The first was in 1995-ish and lasted almost five years. I married my current wife in 2010. We have one son born in 2013.

Our primary vision is to build a collaborative tree with just one profile per person, so please make sure to look for duplicates on WikiTree before adding a profile. Please look at how to write a biography and how to put sources in.
Having dates and locations attached to every person assists in our mission as well - if you have pre-1700s ancestors to add please read our Pre-1700 profiles info.
Check out How To Use WikiTree. Its a great step-by-step guide.
And Im here to help too, just ask!
