"His father, Peter, and grandfather, Gabriel, came from Ireland and were soldiers in the Revolutionary War. He married Sallie Presley and after her death he married her sister, Jane Presley. They were the daughters of Charles Presley. The Presleys were French Huguenots of distinguished ancestry." [2]
