Kenneth was born March 24, 1937 at Helenwood in Scott County, Tennessee. He was the son of A.Y. Phillips and Frona ( Phillips ) Phillips . Kenneth passed away on April 30, 2012 at the Cookeville Regional Medical Center in Cookeville, Putnam County, Tennessee.

Obituary,

Kenneth L. Phillips, 75, of the Cherry Fork community, passed away April 30, 2012, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. Born in Scott County, March 24, 1937, he was preceded in death by his parents, A. Y. and Fronnie B. Newport Phillips; He was a born-again Christian; and a member of Amazing Grace Baptist Church. He is survived by his step-mother and best friend, Annie Duncan and husband, James, of the Cherry Fork community; cousin, Juanell Jacob of Ohio; special friend, Arnold Phillips and wife, Jennie; and many other relatives. Funeral service was conducted May 3, in the chapel of West-Murley Funeral Home with Bro. Bob Staten and Bro. Herb Smith officiating. Music was provided by Lucille Smith and Bob Staten. Interment followed at Cecil Cemetery. West-Murley Funeral Home had charge of arrangements. (Source: The Independent Herald, 10 May 2012, pA7)
