Juanita was born on October 19, 1913 at Cherry Fork in Scott County, Tennessee. She was the daughter of William Dale Crusoe Phillips and Calanza ( Newport ) Phillips . She married Henry Columbus Brown on February 14, 1935 at Huntsville in Scott County. She passed away on May 3, 1981 at Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie, Delaware County, Indiana.

BROWN, JUANITA PHILLIPS died 3 May 1981 Juanita P. Brown, 67, passed away May 3, at Ball Memorial Hospital, Muncie, Ind., following an extended illness. She was a resident of Springport, Ind. Born October 19, 1913 in Helenwood, She was the daughter of William and Clanza Newport Phillips. She had resided in Springport, Ind. the past 30 years. She was a member of the Cherry Fork Baptist Church in Helenwood, and attended the Springport Christian Church. She married Henry C. Brown on February 14, 1935 in Huntsville. Besides her husband, she is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Lyle (Juanelle) Jacobs of Beaver Creek, O.; three granddaughters: Mrs. Rick (Karen) Scott of Ypsilanti, Mich., Mrs. James (Jacqulyn) Green of Westerville, O., and Miss Janice Jacobs of Beaver Creek, O.; one great-granddaughter, Miss Heather Marie Scott of Ypsilanti, Mich.; one brother, Marley Y. Phillips of Oneida; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one daughter and two sisters. Services were at 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 6, at Macer Funeral Home, Inc. in New Castle, Ind. with Rev. David Haggard of the Springport Christian Church officiating. Graveside services and burial was at 2:30 p.m. at Mt. Moriah Cemetery in Cincinnati, O. (Source: The Scott County News, 7 May 1981, p14)
