Biography

W. Haywood Phillips was born 8 May 1919 in Buies Creek, the second son of William Kearney Phillips^[1] and Effie C. (Barker) Phillips.^[2][3]

He was attending the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa, Alabama in the summer of 1940 when he registered for the draft.^[4] He eventually graduated with a degree in Accountancy.^[3]

He married Nancy Rosyter Parham on 7 March 1942 in Vance County, North Carolina.^[5]

He died on 4 May 2007 in Asheville.^[3]
