ohn N. Phillips, 97, a longtime Cushing resident and retired farmer died in the Cushing Hospital Monday following a long illness.
The funeral service was Wednesday in the First Baptist church in Jennings with Rev. Waldo Young, pastor of the Oak Street Baptist Church, officiating.
Interment, under direction of the Davis Funeral Home, was in the Cushing Fairlawn cemetery, beside the grave of his late wife, Mrs. Mary Etta Phillips.
Mr. Phillips was the father of Payne County Sheriff, Frank Phillips.
