John Phillip was born at Northam, Devon on 9 Jan 1542. [1] The name of his father was not given in the parish register. He may be a son of either Simon Phillip or Richard Phillip who both had children baptised at Northam in the right time frame.
John Philips, buried St Martin Orgar, London on 17 Apr 1626 was recorded as John, son of John Phillips, Merchant Taylor. [5] The Find A Grave memorial is incorrect and unsourced and conflates two different people. [6]

Hello Profile Managers. On behalf of the Managed Profiles team I have been sourcing the family of John Phillip/s of Northam. All the current sources indicate that his LNAB is Phillip - without the s at the end. I plan to change the LNAB to reflect the sources, unless of course we can find anything to the contrary. Cheers,
