Obit: Beatrice M. Cox Retired nurse

Beatrice M. Cox, 93, of East Fremont Street, Fostoria, died at 12:55 p.m. Friday, July 23, 1999, at the St. Catherines Care Center, Fostoria.

She was born May 10, 1906, in Carey to Robert F. and Viola A. (Boyce) Phillips. On Sept. 25, 1942, she married Vernon E. Cox in Napoleon. He died Dec. 25, 1973.

Surviving are a son, Earl E. Cox of Findlay; six grandchildren and a great-grandchild. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by: two brothers, James E. and John D. Phillips; six sisters, Mary P. Gilliland, Laura B. Breitigam, Nellie E. Martin, Alice J. Berry, Ethel I. Smith and Frances Pressler.

Mrs. Cox had been employed as a licensed practical nurse at the Fostoria City Hospital, retiring in 1976 after over 11 years of employment. She was a member of the High Street United Methodist Church; Fostoria Member of the Pathfinders Sunday School Class; United Methodist Women; Naomi Circle; a former member of the American Legion Auxiliary; American Association of Retired Persons; Fostoria Senior Citizens; Fostoria Women's Club; Shepherd Center Adventures in Learning; Florence Nightengale Retired Nurses Organization; St. Catherines Care Center Auxiliary; an American Red Cross volunteer; and had helped in the Community Sharing Kitchen.

Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday at the Harrold-Floriana Funeral Home in Fostoria with the Rev. Jeffrey L. Waite officiating. Burial will be in the Spring Grove Cemetery in Carey.

Visitation will be 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the elevator fund of the High Street United Methodist Church. Burried with Phillips family at Spring Grove Cemetery Carey OH.
