HIGH POINT, N.C.- Rev. Isaac Newton Phillips, 92[1], a resident of Westchester Manor,passed away late evening at the nursing center.
Born in Moore County to William E. and Viola Brady Phillips[2], he had made this area his home for much of his life. He pastored Friends churches for well over fifty years in North Carolina and also in Indiana and attended Thomasville Friends Church as long as his health permitted. The son of farmers, he loved his hobby of gardening. Rev.Phillips was a very giving and compassionate person whose primary mission in life was service to others.
He was preceded In death by his parents, five sisters, three brothers, his beloved daughter, Ardena Phillips in 2003 and his devoted wife, the former Esther Kirby whom he married 15 Jul 1937[3]in 2000.
Surviving are his son, Daniel (Jennifer) Phillips,Oswego, ll.; brother Ted (Bronna) Phillips, Bennett,N.C.; six grandchildren; and three great grandchildren. Also surviving is a special devoted niece, Ernstina Parker of High Point.[4]
He is interred in the Eastlawn Gardens of Memory, Kernersville, Forsyth, North Carolina, United States of America[5]
