Congratulations on certifying to work on pre-1700 profiles! It’s very important to read and understand https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Help:Pre-1700_Profiles. These profiles for deep ancestors are shared by many, and collaborating on them works best if we all follow the guidelines laid out on that page.
David ~ WikiTree Pre-1700 Greeter
I just joined WikiTree. My Desmond ancestors are: Cornelius Desmond was born on December 25, 1828 (or 1826 or 1827). He was the son of Daniel Desmond and Joan Keleher (or Johanna Kealaher). His brother, John Desmond, was baptized on June 20, 1822 in Coachford Parish in Cork County Ireland.2 Coachford is only 33 minutes from Bandon but more importantly it is only 16 minutes from Macroom which is only about 4-5 miles up the road from Daniel Desmonds land in Mishells Downland. Daniel died from complications of the famine. John and Cornelius immigrated to St. Louis, IL and East Saint Louis, MO in 1852. Perhaps we are related. My gedcom and DNA results are now in WikiTree. Now that you have had a little time to try WikiTree, there are a few more features you may find useful.
Ideas on what to include in a profile can be found in Styles and Standards, including some tips on writing biographies.
If you need to describe an event, an heirloom or a location relevant to your research, you may like to learn about Free Space Profiles.
Lastly, sometimes you'll run into unresponsive profile managers. We have a process for resolving those unfortunate situations.
If you have any questions, feel free to ask via my profile page.
