Biography

Thankful was born in Massachusetts in 1806. She married Burgess-4067, marrying in Vinalhaven on July 8, 1830.[1] In 1850, they lived on Martinicus Isle, where her husband worked as a fisherman.[2] In 1860, being enumerated in Rockland, Maine, her husband worked as the lighthouse keeper on the Matinicus Rock lighthouse. Their son, Benjamin, age 23 at the time, worked as the assistant lighthouse keeper.[3]

By 1870, they had returned to Vinalhaven, where her husband again worked as a fisherman.[4] She passed away there at the age of 85.
