Giuseppe Piazza is born 5 May 1804 and baptized the next day. He is the son of Don Francesco Piazza and Ignazia Grizzaffi. His godparents are Don Antonino Bruno and Crocifissa Ciravolo, wife of Leonardo.
In the 1834 census, ‘’Donna’’ Ignazia, 66 (b. 1768), heads a household as you go up the strada di Maestro Paolo Gallo. She lives with her children: Carmela, 36 (b. 1798), ‘’Don’’ Giovanni, 34 (b. 1800), Giuseppe, 28 (b. 1806---he is actually 30), Paolo, 24 (b. 1810---he is actually 32), and Antonino, 21 (b. 1813---he is actually 24).[1]
Don Giuseppe dies, unmarried, on 6 June 1855. He receives last rites in the hospital, where he dies. His age is not given: he is 51.
