It is very important to you and to others that you include as much bio info about individuals as possible & dont forget the need for sources. You will come to appreciate the need for this background info and sources as you continue with WikiTree.
If you have any questions, feel free to ask. John Beeson WikiTree Mentor
Thank you for joining WikiTree. As a WikiTree Mentor I am available to answer any questions or help solve any issues you may be having.
How To Use WikiTree is a good starting point and the Help Index is an important place to find out how to do most tasks.
Do you have Royal Ancestors? They are already here on Wikitree! Rather than create duplicate profiles for them, please contact the EuroAristo Project to discuss connecting your family line to their profiles.
Feel free to ask me via my profile page if you have any questions.
Thank you for joining our community, Donnie. I can definitely relate to what you said. I've got a number of lines that we can't locate a paper trail for so need to find a cousin or cousins who may have the answers.
Our Honor Code, G2G message forum, help pages, search features, and many other useful links can be accessed from the menus on the upper right corner of most pages.
VERY IMPORTANT:
The more documents, sources, dates, and locations you provide on the profiles you create, the stronger your branches and our mutual global tree will be. If you don't know the correct date, please estimate using before or after.
Thank you for helping in our mission to build a global tree with only one profile per person.
I do not consider myself a genealogist and have no formal training. What I do believe in is the importance of being a keeper of memories and names. Our ancestors are one generation away from being lost without them.I have been on a quest now for several years trying to locate a paternal 2nd great grandfather, his parents, or siblings. I have information on him from 1850 forward to his death but there are no family records stating the name of his father. Without that name we search blindly hoping to connect with that one other person who is searching too who can open the door and introduce us to our past ancestors.
Welcome to WikiTree as a guest !
If you are just looking for family or other researchers working on the same names as yours, use the surname search
function at the top of the profile page or ask at G2G Forum
If you would like to enjoy the benefits of being a full member, leave us a message here letting us know. If you just
want to be a guest, that's ok too but please let us know what you would like to do.
Once we see a message on your profile stating why you want to be a part of our collaborative genealogical community,
one of our greeters will confirm you . Enjoy this video done by one of our members about
