Biography

Sarah Pickett was christened on 24 Nov 1833 in Wroughton, Wiltshire, England.[1] She was the daughter of James Pickett and Mary Cook.[2]

In 1841, she was 7 years of age, and lived with her parents and siblings at Wroughton, Wiltshire, England.[3]

In 1851, she was 17 years of age, and still lived with her parents and siblings at Wroughton.[4]

She passed away in 1923.[2]

Research Notes

  • Yet to find record of marriage to Joseph Davenport.
  • Probable that in 1861 census, she is in St Marylebone, London with husband Joseph Davenport, son Thomas Henry aged 2, and son Joseph aged 1. Probable that both these sons died before they emigrated to Australia.
  • Other family trees on Ancestry, My Heritage etc list birth of daughter Clara Davenport in 1864, but yet to find reliable source.
  • Yet to find emigration record to Australia - must be before 1866 when son Arthur was born in Queensland
