Sarah Pickett was a daughter of Henry Pickett.
She first married to James Fullerton and was named Sarah Fullerton in the will of her father dated the 18th day of October 1701 in Essex County, Virginia.
Sarah was named in the will of James Fullerton dated 10th December 1713 in Essex County. His will named their son James Fullerton and stated, if this son was to fail in heirs, his estate was to be divided between five un-named daughters. If his widow Sarah was to remarry, she was to have no part in the execution of his estate.[1]
Sarah Fullerton entered into a bond 13th May 1714 with co-executor James Griffin and securities John Pickett, John Haile, and William Pickett to administer upon the estate of her deceased husband. Further record of the administration of the estate of James Fullerton, indicates Sarah was again married to James Webb prior to 13th January 1715, She and James Webb were released, or held harmless, by James Griffin in the administration.[2]
Sarah entered into a bond dated 16th October 1723 to become guardian of her son James Fullerton with Richard Covington and John Gore as her sureties.[3] The daughters of James Fullerton and Sarah were named in the Essex County will of his son James Fullerton dated 17th June 1727, which also named his mother Sarah Webb as his executrix. This will was proved 16th September 1729 and Sarah this day entered into a bond to administer the estate of her deceased son with John Pickett and John MaKenny as her sureties.[4]
The children of Sarah by her first marriage to James Fullerton are thereby identified as follows:
The will of Sarah Webb was dated 13th February 1730 and proved 20th December 1748 in Essex County. She named her five daughters, Sarah, Elizabeth [then Johnson], Penelope Gatewood, Mary, and Hannah. She named her sons-in-law James Gatewood and Richard Johnson to be her executors.[5]
