The Picketts of the Virginia Colonies settled after coming earlier from France by way of England. Henry, the first Pickett of this line of whom we know anything definite settled in Middlesex County, Virginia, and was registered in the Vestry Book of Christ Church Parish in the year 1665.[1] He was a cask maker by trade, and was appointed constable in the year 1692.[2]

He was married twice, first to Sarah who was the mother of his son, John, through whom the name was perpetuated. He had another son, William, who had no children, and two daughters, Sarah, who married first James Fullerton, then James Webb; and Hannah, who married first Ebenezer Stanfield, second Thomas Hines, and third Thomas Spencer.

In his will (probated July 10, 1702 in Essex or Middlesex County, Virginia), he provided for a child yet unborn to his second wife, Elizabeth, who later was named James but who did not live long dying in infancy.

The last two children : William, who married Sarah, and Henry, who married Elizabeth.

DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Henry by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA. However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line. It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Henry:

Pickett-2953 and Pickett-511 appear to represent the same person because: These two appear to be the same person.

Hi Bob, I completed this merge, of clearly the same Henry Pickett, but there is an error for the attached mother being 6 years old when he was born. By the associations to Henry's family, it seems like he might relate to the John Pigett in Henrico County records c. 1690's. If I find anything of interest will drop it off here. Leaving the decision of attached to parents up to you. ~Honi

The Henry (Pickett-2953) from 2019, appears to be a duplicate of this (Pickett-511) from 2012.

Maybe someone can merge these. Thanks, Bob Cole
