Note of place of birth

The 1850 census has Earl's place of birth as New York. FInd A Grave shows it as Massachusetts, but no source is shown. The Rensselaer County Cemetery Database does not show a place of birth. New York used.

Note on possible son

In the 1850 census living next door to Earl is a Levi Pierce age 30 married to a Jane. In 1855 Patience, sister of Earl is living with Levi but is labeled as sister, it seem almost certain that she is his aunt and that Levi is a son of Earl. Levi died in 1892 and was buried at Hoosick Cemetery.[8]
