According to The History of Ogle County, Illinois, 1878, and the 1880 US Census of Dement, Ogle County, Illinois, Winifred Augusta Pierce, third daughter of Blanford and Sarah J. Pierce, whose name was spelled Winnefred in the1880 Census, was then 10 years old and, apparently, not attending school.
