Marjorie Iverna Pierce was born June 5, 1926, the daughter of Claude Pierce and Lottie Guest of West Sable River, Nova Scotia^[1]

Circa 1946, she married Churchill Giffin, son of Florence Trefry and Robie Giffin, also of Sable River^[2]. Their children included:

1. Pierce, born 1947, who died in 1995
2. Don, born 28 Apr 1948, who died in 2022
3. Paul, born 29 Oct 1955, who died in 2007
