Zebulon Stow (C. 144); and on Sept. 16, 1776, five in the family and goods, to East Haddam by Capt. Joshua Griffeth. He had cattle in 1755 as confirmed by his earmark registered at Southampton. In May 1775, he signed the Association of Americans against British tyranny at Southampton (Suffolk County Hall), N.Y. (see Chapter 16). In the 4 July 1776 Southampton census, east of the Watermill, he was listed with one male over 50 (Zebulon), 2 males 16 to 50, 1 male under 16, one female over 16 (Zebulon's wife), and 3 females (daughters) under 16 years of age. After the British took and occupied Long Island, Zebulon and his effects were moved Sep 1776 from Bridgehampton to Saybrook, Conn., by Capt. Zebulon Stow. On Sep 1776, Zebulon and five in the family and goods were moved to East Haddam, Conn., by Capt. Joshua Griffeth. The town of Southampton granted him land in 1782 at the last Division in Topping's Purchase. On 2 July 1787, he was among the signers of an agreement between the residents of Bridgehampton and Rev. Aaron Woolworth. His wife is unknown. He had chd. John; Abraham; D. Williams; and at least three daughters (1776 census). (Pierson Millennium)
