Biography
Walt grew up in Benton Harbor. He got a bachelor's degree from Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo. He made a career as a sports coach, first in Mattawan, MI, and Fremont, MI, high schools, and finally at Ferris State College in Big Rapids, MI. He was especially known as an excellent baseball coach.
