Harriet Pilbeam married Reuben Russell on 14 November 1844 in Southwick, Sussex. When the 1851 census was recorded they were living in Pourtsmouth Lane in Lindfield, Sussex and Reuben was a gamekeeper. Harriet was then 31 years old and gave her place of birth as Burwash. Also with them on census night was Reuben's son from his previous marriage and 4 further children: 7 year old Hannah Russell, 4 year old Frederick Russell, 2 year old Matilda Russell and 6 month old Eliel Russell.
Harriet was baptised on 29 July 1821 in Burwash and was the daughter of James Pilbeam (1789-1850) and Bridget Reeves.
