Biography

Zillah Pindar, daughter of Charles Pindar and his wife, Mary Hobson, was baptised at Haxey in Lincolnshire on 2 January 1837. ^[1] Her father was an agricultural labourer and the family lived in Nethergate. ^[2] In 1851 they were living at Commonside. Zillah's father, Charles, was not at home when the Census was taken. Zillah and her mother were earning money spinning hemp and her grandfather, John Hobson, was living with them earning as an agricultural labourer. ^[3]

St Nicholas

On 30 November 1858 at St Nicholas Zillah married William Foster, son of Robert Foster.^[4][5] The marriage was registered at Gainsborough. ^[6] They made their home in Williamson Lane. ^[7]

Zillah died in 1909 and was buried at St Nicholas on the 23rd of April. ^[8]
