In 1871 Margaret lived with her parents and younger sister at Galbin Place, Southwick, Sunderland, Durham. Her father was a shipwright. [3]
Margaret, age 14, still lived at 24 Linthorpe Mews, Middlesbrough, Yorkshire with her parents and siblings in 1881. At home with Margaret when the census was taken were her parents Samuel and Dorothy Pink, her younger sisters, Rachel (12) and Mary (8), and brothers William (5), James (3) and Samuel (9). Margaret's father was a ships carpenter. [4]
Margaret, age 23 married John Briggs, age 24, son of Samuel Briggs on 21 April 1890 at St Johns Church, Middlesbrough, Yorkshire. [5]
In 1891 they lived at 51 Mount Street, Middlesbrough, Yorkshire and had a baby son, Samuel. There were also two lodgers living with them. John was an engine fitter.[6]
By 1901 they moved to Northumberland and lived at 13 Victoria Terrace, Newburn Hall, Castleward, Northumberland with their four children, Samuel (10), Elizabeth (8), John (6), and Gladys (4), [7]
In 1911 they lived at 8 Coniston Avenue, Newburn On Tyne, Northumberland with their sons, Samuel and John. John was still and Engine Fitter and both of their sons were working in the local coal mines. [8]
In 1939 they lived at 52 Montague Street, Newburn Northumberland with their daughter Gladys and her husband and son. John has retired from work and Margaret is described as incapacitated.[9]
