Margretta was born 25Jan1839 in Ohio, the daughter of Sylvester H. Pinney and Charlotte Hulse. She married 15Aug1854 Joseph H. Porter (06Oct1828 Oh.-17Jul1902 Mn.) at Randolph, In. and had at least one child:

1. Jennie H. Porter b.1869 Mn. d.1953 Perry Co,Oh.

Margaret died 05Mar1916 at Eyota,Olmstead,Mn. and is buried in \Marion Cemetery
