This person is not a known child of this couple and does not appear in the will of the father or mother See Transcription. The previous merge with Pitchlynn-2 was in error, and this profile should be disconnected from this couple.

Besides not being found in the parent's wills, the foremost reason to disconnect the profile from these parents is that there is no source attached or biographical information which connects Sarah to the Pitchylnn family. Both the Pitchlynn and Folsom families are well documented and the name Sarah PItchlynn/Autry/Pridgen does not appear in any of the family records or trees. Additionally, the birth location is stated as North Carolina, confirmed on the 1850 census, and John Pitchlynn did not live in North Carolina at any time, and therefore can not be the father of someone born in that state. Further, Sophia Folsom could not be the mother of Sarah as Peter P. Pitchlynn was her first child born in 1806 several years after Sarah's reported birth.

Pitchlynn-2 and Autry-635 appear to represent the same person because: Although a Pridgen family bible indicates that Joel and Sarah were married, evidence indicates that Joel was first married to Elizabeth Richardson in North Carolina and had two sons, eventually leaving them and first heading to Kentucky and then Mississippi. Eventually when William Collins Pridgen (son of Joel and Elizabeth) arrived in Mississippi, a Deed of Gift was drawn in 1846 in Clark Co., MS gifting Sarah all his property at his eventual death. The assumption is that since he was still married to Elizabeth, he was unable to marry Sarah - which gave her no legal rights or protections to his property should he precede her in death, rights that would legally be given to his eldest male heir, William Collins. In addition, until there is source material supporting association with the Pitchlynn family, I suggest merging her as "Sarah Autry."
