He was in his parents' household in 1850 in Union county, Georgia.[2]
He was serving in the Georgia 52nd infantry, Confederate army in 1862.[3]
He married Martha Simmons on 04 Sep 1864 in Lumpkins county, Georgia.[4] They had five children.[5]
In 1880, Elijah and Martha were in Hightower, Lumpkin, Georgia.[6]
He was living in Solomon, Cloud, Kansas in 1910 with his wife Martha and his granddaughter Dulcie Pierce.[7] All three were listed as born in Georgia. The census indicated that Elijah and Martha had been married for 45 years.
He passed away 01 Jan 1917 at his home in Glasco, Cloud county, Kansas.[8][9] He was buried in Glasco cemetery in Glasco, Cloud, Kansas.[10]
