Biography

Thomas Patrick Poe was born in 1817-1818 in Chatham County, North Carolina. Thomas was the son of Terry Poe and Mary Riddle Poe. He is listed in 1850 census as living in the same household as his parents. He was married on Dec. 12 1851 to Elizabeth Neal in Chatham County, N.C. In the 1860, 1870 and 1880 census Thomas Poe was living in Cedar Creek, Crawford, Arkansas. Elizabeth died in 1867. Thomas remarried to Lucinda R. Coatney in 1872. Thomas died on Feb 12, 1888. His burial was in Oliver Cemetery, Crawford, Ark. Find a grave #15161691. Many trees have Thomas' birth year as 1825 but information on grave list age as 79 years, 10 months in 1888 which would make birth year about 1818.
