Elizabeth Ann (Betty) Poindexter Slaughter was born 1735 in Virginia. She married Reuben Slaughter in 1759 in Culpepper County, Virginia named Betty. Elizabeth was born in 1735. She was the daughter of John Poindexter and Christian Gissage. She passed away about 1800.

Anne and Captain Meriwether Lewis are 2nd cousins, one generation apart. Meriwether Lewis (August 18, 1774 – October 11, 1809) was an American explorer, soldier, politician, and public administrator, best known for his role as the leader of the Lewis and Clark Expedition, also was the 2nd Governor of Louisiana Territory.
Findagrave source: In 1765, Reuben inherited over 1000 acres of land near Gourd Vine Fork in Culpeper County from his father. Reuben and Betty (Ann) were the parents of thirteen children. They were living in Kanawha County in 1789, when Reuben was appointed surveyor for the county. Reuben died about 1805, it is unknown when Betty (Ann) died, but it was probably in Kanawha County.
