Biography
Mary A. Ponder was born in April 1893 in Miller County, Missouri. She was the daughter of George Ponder and Hepsybeth Stone. She passed away in August 1958 in Miller County and is buried in Hickory Point Cemetery, Miller County.
Mary has not been located in census records until 1920, after her marriage to William Spearman. Her mother died in May 1900. On the 1900 census, dated 1 June 1900, her father is listed with only son Perry in his household. I assume that Mary and her other brothers, John and Gordon, are with relatives but they have not been located. They also are not found in 1910. In 1920 George W. Ponder is found with his sons John W. and Gordon.
