Biography

John James was born in 1863. He was the son of William Henry Pool and Stacy Black. I think John James Pool spelled his surname as "POOLE" although his parents (and most all of the family) used the Pool spelling. Both spellings are seen since 1621 when the first of this line immigrated to Virginia; however the "POOL" spelling has been and continues to be predominant in this "Pool" line.

John James Pool's father died in an accident involving a heavy horse drawn wagon. His mother remarried a much younger man, and much of the very substantial wealth that William Henry Pool had accumulated was spent (family stories vary: some have poorly timed investments in railroad stock [similar to the tech bubble in modern times], while others stories say "high life style combined with poor management skills destroyed the value to the many Pool farms", It is also very possible that Stacy Pool's new husband (Hall) lacked the skills and / or drive necessary to keep all the farms working efficiently. As a result of the disappearing wealth, many of the Pool boys decided to seek elsewhere to establish themselves. . John J Pool married David (Sweetie) Savannah Bozeman on 9 Dec 1888, in South Carolina.

He passed away in 25 Jan 1930.^[1]
