Biography

David was born in 1848 in Monroe County, Ohio to William Henry Pool and Hannah Williamson. His great-grandfathers Isaac Linn, George Cline and Moses Williamson lived in Fort Henry in 1775-1783 and saw the Fort battle two major British and Indiana attacks at the end of the Rev. War. David in 1869 married Martha Jane Drake of Monroe County. His grandfather was John Henry Pool of Fairfax County, VA and a great-uncle was Richard Pool Sr. who settled in Grandview Twp. in 1801. John settled in Jefferson 1811? David and Martha lived in Independence and Grandview Townships in Washington County on a small farm. Their eldest son John died as a infant. David and Martha lived to see most of their sons move to Marietta by the end of WW1 for better jobs and growing families. David died in 1937 and is buried in Bell's Ridge Cemetery, Grandview.
