Disambiguation
There is confusion / debate about which of the Alexander Pool men this is. Researcher Joe Slattery has proved that this is NOT the same Alexander who was father to James B "Jacob" Pool (born in Brunswick VA in 1758). {That Alexander is shown to be Alexander Pool Jr, son of Alexander Poole Sr, and grandson to Thomas Poole Sr -- grandson of David Poule Poole).

This biography is very rough and needs to be edited and extended.
This is very much of a work in progress. There are a large number of related bios that are in development or revison. All help / contributions / corrections will be most sincerely appreciated.
I have included here a number of research notes from Donna Cuzze, most via private email . She is now dead, and out of respect I want to emphasize her desires for her genealogy work. She was VERY SPECIFIC in that she was willing to share her notes and work (always generous to help in areas where she was expert), but she did not want her work to go to any site that charged fees for information access unless she specially authorized such posting. Accordingly, please feel free to quote her ( with proper attribution) but please do not post to any "pay site" (she gave ancestry.com as an example).

Based on these facts , I think that both Alexander Poole and John Poole, Jr. that were in Johnston County, NC came from the Pooles of Elizabeth City County, VA, both cousins and grandsons of Thomas Poole, Sr. and Ann Copeland.

From Belva Cauthen research of the Harris line, she found a number of documents relating to our Pool line. I have a large document with hner notes, but key findings include
a) info on Alexander Poole's death in 1767
b) that Alexander Poole's wife was named Susannah
c) that the Pool orphans were bound out to the Ragsdale family
