Warning: Check the data. A mother's death date (Rickerts-3 died 1650) should not be before one of her children's birth dates (Poole-852 born 1663). (according to FS Anne Rickerts died in 1697)[6]
In this family records are found the surnames Poole, Pooley, and also Pool and Pole.
Anne passed away in 1699 and was buried in Christ Church Cemetery, Middlesex, Virginia (other contributors give the date as 1697). She is mentioned in her husband's will, and around 1699 Anne petitioned the Court, asking friends Richard Allen and Richard Shurley (sic) "to act and do" for her seven children "for their advantage."
{1686-1690 Middlesex Co Va Order Book, page 439} 06 Jan 1689: "Administration of all & singular ye goods & chattels rights & credits of Mr. THO: POOLEY , late of this County. deced., is granted to Mr. ROBERT CHOWNING, Sonn in Law as marrieing the Daughter of ye sd. THO: POOLEY, he giveing good securaty according to Law &c. ..."
Robert Chowning's Will listed in Middlesex Co., 1698 Book: LW, Num/Page: B-004 dated 4 Jan 1696, Middlesex County, British Colony of Virginia. Proven on 5 Sep 1698: "It is my will and mind that the remaining parts and residue of my whole personal estate of whatever kind, -- be equally divided between my love wife and Ann Chowning and my said loving children, Thomas, George, Samuel, John, William, and Elizabeth Chowning ..." see in:
