Prior to editing this profile, the only thing stated in the Biography section was: 1) the note preserved in the Religion section of the Bibliography (above), which has yet to be verified with sources; 2) a comment regarding the possibility that the wrong Mary Davis may be connected to Elijah's Find a Grave memorial page since her shown mother, Elizabeth Greer, "was born, married, had her kids, and died in Baltimore, Maryland 301 miles north of North Carolina." The second comment from the original Biography has been preserved here, in the Research Notes, since Elijah's wife is not linked to that individual in WikiTree.
Much of the above Biography was extracted from Elijah's Find a Grave memorial page and the statements of fact need to be further researched and cited.
