Biography

Vine was born in 1770, the son of Peter Porter and Abigail Bingham. He married Sarah Burroughs in 1793. Vine passed away in 1820.

Citation Information Transcript from Stearns, E.S. (1908)

(I) Vine Porter lived at Crown Point, New York. He married Sarah Burroughs, who was born at Alstead. New Hampshire. They had six children: Ephraim, Calvin, Samuel. Theda, John and Vine. (II) Vine, fifth son and youngest son of Vine and Sarah (Burroughs) Porter, was born at Crown Point, New York, on September 22, 1801.[1]

Other information The youngest son Vine Jr was born 1801, Theda was the fourth child of Sarah and Vine, therefore her estimated birth year would be around 1798 to 1800. Federal Census records for Theda states she was born around 1798-1800 in New York. Also marriage records for Theda indicate a Samuel Porter being married in the same church where Theda and Joseph Morrison were married, two years earlier.
