Biography

John Porter son of Samuel Porter and Hannah Stanley was on December 12, 1666, at Hadley, Hampshire, Massachusetts. ^{[1] [2] [3]}

John married first, on April 3 1690, Mary Butler at Hadley. ^[1] Mary was born about 1670, daughter of Thomas Butler and Sarah Stone. ^[3]

The family resided at Hadley, moved to Lebanon, Connecticut, finally settling at Hebron, Connecticut about 1702.

His wife Mary died at Hebron on October 19, 1725. ^[4]

He married second, Sarah Church at Hebron on October 13, 1726. ^{[4] [2]} Sarah died just a year later, in October, 1727. ^[4]

The following year John married widow Rebecca Smalley at Hebron on December 26, 1728. ^[4]

John Porter Sr. died at Hebron on January 4, 1746/7. ^[4]
