From English Ancestry of Edward Porter NEHGR Robert Porter had degrees from Pembroke College at Cambridge University in 1563, a B.A. and M.A. from Trinity College in 1566 and 1570, lastly a B.D in 1577. He was a deacon, rector, and a vicar in Herefordshire.
