He arrived in Toronto from Ireland before 29 Dec 1851, and lived in Manvers Township, Durham County, Canada West (Ontario). In that year, he owned Lot 78, Concession II, in Holland Township, Grey County.
Andrew married Jane Gallagher likely before 1854 based on the birth of their first child.
The family removed to the property in Holland Township before 1861, perhaps before 1855.
They removed to Manitoulin Island, Ontario, before 1881, and then to Hannah, Cavalier County, North Dakota, before 16 Oct 1884.
After his wife's death, he removed to the Glen Ewen area of Saskatchewan.
He is buried in Hannah, North Dakota.
Andrew may have been born 23 Jul 1827, in Drumadart Townland, Inver Civil Parish, County of Donegal, Ireland, the son of Andrew Porter and Isabella Henderson. See research.
