Mary Neil Porter was born on 6 March, 1816, in Pittsbourgh, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania. Mary was the daughter the Honorable William Porter and his wife, Mary. William was a judge in the Orphan's Court and had a large family. Mary married John McCurdy McCONAUGHY on 22 May 1844 in Pittsbourgh, Allegheny, Pennsylvania. Mary passed away in 24 Jan 1903, in Rochelle, Ogle County, Illinois.
