Biography

Edward was born on 23 October 1885 in Small Heath, Birmingham. He was the son of Edward Joseph Porter and Mary Hannah (Jordan) Porter.^[1]

In the 1891 census Edward (age 5) was living in Yardley, Worcestershire, England. Address Stechford Lwr(Lower) Village.^[1]

In the 1901 census Edward (age 15) was living in Yardley, Worcestershire, England. Occupation: Photographic work Address: Station Cottages, Northcote Road, Stechford.^[2]

When Edward was 22 he married in January 1908 in Solihull, Warwickshire.^[3]

In the 1911 census Edward (age 25) was living in Aston, Warwickshire, England. 128 Anderton Road, Sparkbrook. Photographic Emulsion Maker.^[4]
