Biography

Edward was born on 23 October 1885 in Small Heath, Birmingham. He was the son of Edward Joseph Porter and Mary Hannah (Jordan) Porter.[1]

In the 1891 census Edward (age 5) was living in Yardley, Worcestershire, England. Address Stechford Lwr(Lower) Village.[1]

In the 1901 census Edward (age 15) was living in Yardley, Worcestershire, England. Occupation: Photographic work Address: Station Cottages, Northcote Road, Stechford.[2]

When Edward was 22 he married in January 1908 in Solihull, Warwickshire.[3]

In the 1911 census Edward (age 25) was living in Aston, Warwickshire, England. 128 Anderton Road, Sparkbrook. Photographic Emulsion Maker.[4]

On 20 November 1915 Edward (age 30) was living at 11 Foley Road Ward End, B'ham. British Army WWI Service Records, 1914-1920 Enlistment Occupation: Photographic chemist On same form Royal Engineers Chatham 14 March 1917.[5]

Edward died at the age of 94 on 21 April 1980 in Birmingham. East Birmingham Hospital, Broncho-pneumonia.[5][6]
