She was the 4th Great Grandmother of Queens Elisabeth II through her son Rev Robert Hodgson to the Bowes Lyons family.
She was a second cousin of President George Washington, both sharing a common ancestor Augustine Warner (1610-74). In 1720, Robert Porteus, moved from Virginia to Yorkshire, and later to Bedfordshire where Mildred was born.
