Biography
Francis W. was born about 1800.
Francis W. first marriage was to Delamy Minor about 1822. Francis W. married again to Ellen Johnson about December 20, 1853 in Coosa County, Alabama. Francis W. estate proceedings were filed in Coosa County, Alabama on May 8, 1865. Named in his estate document was Ellen his wife, William Newton Posey, John Franklin Posey, Maranda Posey, Rebecca Posey Yates, James Posey and two minor children, Missouri and Margaret from Francis’ second marriage. Five sons of Francis W. served In the Confederate Army. Three died: Jefferson, Eli & James. Two survived: William & John.
