Bryant was born about 1797. Bryant Posey ... He passed away about 1860. [1]
Still need verification of Benjamin's parents.
In the books, Historical Southern Families, The Dees Family; there are numerous people with the name Bryant. Is it possible that Rebecca (Dees) Posey born about 1775, is the mother of Benjamin Bryant Posey born between1795 and 1801?
Rebecca Dees is supposedly the first wife of Nehemiah Posey, Jr.
I would not be pulling my hair out, if the numerous Posey families had not named their children with all the same names.

Anna Trauntham (1751-1820) 0-2-1.(Appears to be wife of Nehemiah Posey, Sr.) If Anna married Nehemiah Posey, Sr., why is she listed here, by her maiden name?
Humphrey Poesey Junior, 1-0-2.
Humphrey Poesey (Must be senior?) 2-1-1 (Born ca. 1768. Died ca. 1826)
(Humphrey Posey, Sr. appears to be the son Nehemiah, Sr. and Anna.)
Benjamin Poesey, 1-3-1.
John Poesey, 1-3-2.
(This may be the John born 1772, and the son of Nehemiah, Sr. and Anna.)
(There is a John Posey, age 78, in the 1850 Telfair County, Ga. census. Also, listed with John is Creacy Posey, age 65. All the researchers have John dying in 1839, Telfair County. How can John die in 1839 when he is listed in the 1850 Telfair County census?) Also, there is a John Posey in the 1810 Union County, S.C. census. So, appears there are several John Poseys.
page 259:
Francis Poesey, 1-1-2.

Is one of these two females listed with Nehemiah, Jr., Rebecca Dees?

Shade Dees, 1-4-5. (The whole Dees family is listed in this book.)
Shadrack Shade Dees (1753-1797) is the father of Rebecca Dees (1778-1795). According to Historical Southern Families,[5]Rebecca Dees is the first wife of Nehemiah Posey, Jr. (1769-1843). And if true, then, Nehemiah Posey, Jr's second wife would be Mary Elizabeth Friday.
On Shadrock Dees' Will, written March 7, 1797, (Edgefield County) is listed a Nehemiah Plsey (Posey). Shadrack Dees' children are not named. Shadrack's wife, Grace (Barefoot) is mentioned. Shadrack's brothers, Bolling Dees, and Joel Dees are listed. On this Will, I don't know if this is Nehemiah Posey senior or junior. But if Nehemiah Posey, Jr. married Rebecca Dees, it seems logical that Nehemiah Posey, Jr. is listed on Shadrack's Will. (?)
To see Shadrack Dees' Will, go to website of South Carolina Department of Archives and History: Records and Image Search, and type in "Dees".

This Benjamin Posey 16 to 25 should not be confused with the the Benjamin Posey 1775-1824. The Benjamin Posey born about 1775 is the son of Nehemiah, Sr. and Anna Trauntham.
The Benjamin Posey born ca. 1780 (Son of Francis Posey) may have been in Pulaski County also. (?)
There appears to be numerous people named Benjamin Posey.

DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Benjamin by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA.
However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line.
It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Benjamin:
