Biography

Born

Rouse was born on the 13th of Feb 1702/3 in Kingston, Rhode Island. [1][2] He was the son of Ichabod Potter and Margaret Helme.[2]

Marriage

He married Lydia Bull on the 11th of January in Trinity Church, Newport, Rhode Island.[3] They had several children:

  1. Henry , born 1736.
  2. William, born 1740.

Death

Rouse died on the 5th of Sept 1786 in Newport Rhode Island.[4]

His will is dated 25 May 1785 with a codicil dated 16 June 1786 and proved on 9 October 1786 in Portsmouth, Rhode Island.[5] His date of death 5 September 1786 is recorded in the heading of his inventory which was taken on the 15 September 1786.[5]

Potter-3865 and Potter-6624 appear to represent the same person because: Birth, death, spouse match according to information already cited in both as well as my research. Note: He was born during a double date period so 1702/03 is correct.
