Joseph was born in 1786. He is the son of George Potter and Eleanor Whinham. He was Christened on the 2nd April 1786 in Hartburn, Northumberland.[1]
During the census of 1841 Joseph lived with his wife Eleanor and their three children in Gosforth, Newcastle upon TYne.[2]
