Thomas Potter performed Patriotic Service in Virginia in the American Revolution.

Thomas Potter is a DAR Patriot Ancestor, A091809.

Thomas Potter was born May 26, 1746, in Virginia and was living in Henry county, Virginia, at the time of the American Revolutionary War. Thomas was 31 years of age when he took the Oath of Allegiance in Henry county, on September 13, 1777. [1]

Thomas is honored for his Patriotic Service by the Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution as DAR Ancestor #A091809. DAR records indicate that Thomas died December 14, 1824, in Warren county, Kentucky and that his wife's name was Ann Susannah Potter. Applications for membership in the Society of the DAR have been made by the descendants of their sons, Frederick Potter, who married Elizabeth Kirby; William Potter, who married Nancy Kirby, Elisha Potter, who married Judah (maiden name not given; and Lewis Potter, who married Nancy Hickerson; and of their daughters, Elizabeth "Betsy" Potter, who married Jacob Harrington; and Rachel Potter, who married Joseph Weathers. He is my maternal 5th GGpa. In 4/2021, I entered the Daughters of the American Revolution through him. I am honored to be his descendant and appreciated his efforts in the making of America.
