In service in all the battles of the Army of the Potomac from Malvern Hill to Fredericksburg, where he was mortally wounded, Dec. 13, 1862 and d. the next day; was interred at Hollidaysburg; had been promoted to Adjutant previous to his death; Post 62 GAR Society of Veterans at Altoona is named in his honor.
