Because WikiTree has only one profile for each person, the further back you go in your ancestry, the more likely cousins will find you and help out. ANY Wiki Genealogist can edit "Open" profiles (over 200 years old = open). There is also a brickwall tag in the G2G forum: brickwall
Sources are very important, so please be sure to include the sources used, on each profile you add.
It is a good idea to enter a few of your ancestors manually, to get used to how WikiTree works. Then, you could upload a small portion of your tree, with a gedcom, to see how that works. There is always editing needed after a Gedcom import, so fewer profiles will make that task easier.
Hello & Welcome, to WikiTree! We're growing a FREE worldwide family tree, striving for ONE collaborative profile per person.
Feel free to ask questions at our G2G forum. Also, our help pages menu, top right, has some very useful information.
The Honor Code is why our community is such a friendly place to grow your family tree, so please take some time to read it. Want to join us? Check the volunteer box and leave a brief comment about your genealogical interests. - Happy researching, Patt -
